Meet Up Groups

Are you looking for a way to help your teen or young adult build social confidence, practice real-world social skills, and make genuine connections? Our Meet-Up Groups are for you!

Once per month for about 4 hour per outing

Real-Life Practice. Real Friendships. Real Fun.

At ProTherapyPlus, we believe social skills aren't just meant to be practiced in a room-they're meant to be lived. One of the biggest gaps we've seen in traditional social skill programs is the lack of real-world opportunities for teens and young adults to generalize what they've learned. That's where we come in. We designed our Meet-Up Groups to bridge that gap-providing structured but fun social outings where participants can use what they've learned in a natural environment, guided by experienced therapists who understand how to support them in the moment.

What Are Meet-Up Groups?

Meet-Up Groups are therapist-led monthly outings designed to take social learning beyond the therapy room and into the community. These outings provide a supportive, fun environment where teens and young adults can build friendships, develop independence, and practice social skills in real-time-all while having a great time!

Two Group Options:

  • Teen Meet-Up Group (ages 13-18)
  • Young Adult Meet-Up Group (ages 18+)

Each group meets the first weekend of the month for approximately four hours. Activities are community-based and engaging, ranging from theme parks and arcade visits to mall outings, movies, lunch-meetups and office hangouts.

These experiences help participants:

  • Real-life social skills practice
  • Learn to navigate public spaces and group dynamics
  • Build increased independence and confidence
  • Opportunities to build friendships with like-minded peers
  • Step outside their comfort zone in a safe and fun way

Support with social challenges like:

  • Shyness or social anxiety
  • ADHD or Autism Spectrum
  • Impulse control
  • Frustration or anger management

Why It Works:

The casual, social format allows for organic interactions, where social growth happens naturally. Teens and young adults often return month after month, and real friendships begin to take root-creating a sense of belonging and community many have been missing. Participants receive gentle redirection and support from our trained therapists while skill enjoying fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Program Highlights

  • Frequency - Once per month
  • Length - about 4 hour per outing
  • Led by - Experienced and trained therapists with expertise in social development
  • Location - Community-based activities around the Tampa Bay area
  • Commitment - Come monthly or as desired (spaces are limited!)

My kids talked all about the crafts. They were interesting and let them use their big imaginations.
The fact that is was group therapy AND camp!
The activities and being around kids his age were wonderful!
We loved that our son was making new friends, the phone grp chat, the video games outing and animals outings at theme parks. The water park was also great.
My daughter was very excited for the reward system.
It was wonderful for our child to meet other peers who he can relate to.
Our son liked playing board games and having Ms. Krystle there to talk to.
Everything seemed smooth from my vantage. I think being able to drive himself made it a lot easier for us as parents. Your email communications detailing instructions for sign ups and arrivals etc, also come to mind as excellent.
Loved the opportunity to get together with others in a safe / controlled environment.
Our daughter loves the adventure a day camp, as far as small groups, more for her age group if possible!
Our son seemed to like it very much! He asked to go back again and wants to hang out with Ms. Krystle.
I liked the set up of both camps. The kids really enjoyed themselves. And they understood the content. And connected well with the instructors.
My two kiddos loved the camp. The first day I picked them up my daughter looked at me with big happy eyes and said “mama, I loved it!” She doesn’t like anything new. This was very comforting to my heart. They really liked the ticket earning system.
My daughter is very shy but was comfortable after the first day. She was very excited and had zero complaints. I appreciated the take-aways each day, as they helped prompt conversations about the skills learned.
Our son had an amazing time and is so excited to come back! The camp seemed well organized and communication was good.
Our son had a really great time once he adjusted (day 1 was a bit challenging for him emotionally, but he was proud of himself for sticking it out). He was sad when the week was over.
Our teen doesn’t tell us much but seemed to enjoy going to this camp the last few yrs. And we were grateful for the social experiences, and his chance to meet and hang out with other “autists” as he says.
My teen had a great time, she enjoyed all the activities and getting to see friends and make new friends
Generally very well done! The therapists did a great job helping my son feel welcome and had engaging activities each day.
Well organized and fun!
Sierra always does an amazing job. Our son enjoys the camp.
